Not surprisingly, Yakkle is now my preferred method to help my mother on her computer.

As for your question, no you do not need to open a port, Yakkle will punch a UDP hole through your router/firewall when you establish a voice/desktop sharing session with another user. Yakkle uses classical UDP hole punching techniques (detailed at draft-takeda-symmetric-nat-traversal-00.txt and p2pnat).

If you find a specific router/firewall combination that gives Yakkle trouble, please give us a shout back on the feedback dialog right within Yakkle or email us at support@yakkle.com.zenvivaguyshttp://claimid.com/zenvivaguysnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299135225576079439.post-70529886775903640352008-02-17T01:43:00.000-05:002008-02-17T01:43:00.000-05:00One of the thing related to the screen sharing is ...One of the thing related to the screen sharing is that how it's gonna manage through firewall and router. Do we need to open port? If yes, then I'd rather stick with LogMeIn or VNC over Hamachi, or even TeamViewer. They require no knowledge of port forwarding, and it's really convenient to set up troubleshooting at my mother's house.Esentehttp://esente.infonoreply@blogger.com
